My research focuses on the crystal growth of inorganic luminescent materials, particularly halide scintillators, and on the characterization of their optical and radiation-detection properties. By combining these experiments with electronic-structure analysis based on first-principles calculations, I aim to elucidate the underlying luminescence mechanisms and to apply these materials to neutron and gamma-ray detection.
